Camino de Santiago

Due to illness 5 years ago I felt indifference for my career and was at a cross road in my life. I was looking for the next chapter and new direction.

This presented itself as a pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago. Right away I felt at home and embraced the Spanish culture. The richness of my experience and the feeling of good will, that I felt will always hold a special place in my heart.

The Camino not only healed me from chronic fatigue but laid the foundations for a new life ahead.
Being surrounded constantly by ancient buildings and architecture, as well as amazing natural beauty and scenery, was enriching and enlightening. I met many warm hearted pilgrims from all over the world and the bond of these new friendships was nourishing and rewarding.

It was this experience that reinvigorated my passion for creating. Many new leather cuff designs and ideas were inspired on the pilgrimage, and the foundation for this lies in the architecture and ancient symbols I experienced along the way.

The same inspiration also allowed me to follow my heart and create my experimental art projects. They are now complete and combine leather, brass, copper, bronze, sterling silver and semi precious gemstones.

As a mark of respect for the Camino de Santiago and the inspiration it gave me, I published a diary of my travels. Here I share photographs, poetry, sketches and anecdotes of my journey. I share this diary with you for free, please download your copy here. Click here
